Discovery Bank's history
Discovery Bank was organized in 2001 in response to a shortage of locally based lenders, and to fill a need for personalized service by local decision-makers. In September of 2001, Discovery Bank's first branch was opened in the outskirts of Lake San Marcos. Today, Discovery Bank maintains its headquarters in San Marcos, and is conveniently located off of San Marcos Blvd. in Restaurant Row. In order to further assist local business owners prosper and grow, Discovery Bank has continued to reinvest its resources, and has since opened two additional full service branches. In January of 2004, a new branch was opened in Poway, California, and later, in January of 2007, Discovery Bank opened a branch in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Today, all three branches allow Discovery Bank to accomplish its number one goal of superior customer service.
In addition to expanding its branch services throughout local markets, Discovery Bank made the decision to further assist those businesses who may not qualify for traditional bank financing. In August of 2005, Discovery Bancorp (parent company to Discovery Bank) acquired Celtic Capital Corporation, a commercial finance company out of Santa Monica, California. Celtic Captial's goal is to help businesses build the financial strength needed to qualify for traditional bank financing as quickly as possible.
Discovery Bank is proud of its ability to provide a full spectrum of financial services to small and middle-market businesses through a consultative approach, while consistently providing world-class customer service.
